Quick import of reviews from supported apps

To import your customers’ reviews into the Growave app please follow these steps:

Step 1. Go to Shopify Admin → Apps → Choose Growave app → Reviews → Settings → Import/Export Reviews or simply click this link.

Step 2. Choose a previously used Shopify app from the list of supported apps (Judge.me, Loox, Shopify reviews, Stamped.io, Yotpo).

Step 3. Click Upload a CSV file by selecting it from your computer.

💡 Important: Validation and Revert

Validation. After you start importing data the validation process will be initiated, after its completion you will see how many records are passed through with the status “OK”, and how many records will not be imported - check the validation report file. It is possible to either refuse the import - upload another file, or continue import with records that have passed validation. After the import is completed, the final import report file will be generated, there will be records that did not pass the import. This file is available for download right in the admin panel.

Revert. You can use the Revert button to reverse any imported CSV file that was previously imported. The history is updated when you revert the import.

💡 Tip: If you have been using a Shopify reviews app like Judge.me, Loox, Shopify reviews, Stamped.io, Yotpo, then you can use exported reviews in a CSV format from these providers as-is.

If you chose the “Other” reviews app, then follow the instructions below, on how to prepare your CSV file with reviews.

Import from other reviews’ apps

If you have been using a Shopify reviews app that isn’t mentioned in the list of supported apps, then you will need to prepare a CSV file with your customers’ reviews and upload it using the same admin interface by selecting the option “Other”. We can import data from any Shopify reviews’ app if you follow the requirements for importing data.

Step 1. Prepare a CSV file for import

Here are the Growave requirements for the CSV file with customers’ reviews:

REQUIRED:

‘customer_email’ - your customers’ emails;
‘product_id’ or 'product_handle'' - your products' IDs or products' handles (at least one column to be filled in)/(if not set then the review belongs to your site reviews);
‘body' - content of a review
‘rating'' - numerical rating of a review

OPTIONAL:

‘customer_name’ - name of a person who left a review (if none “Anonymous will be used”).
‘created_at' - date when a review was left (if none “present” date will be used)
‘images'' - link(s) to an image(s) associated with a review (maximum: 5 pics per review with 5 links separated by comma, 10 mb for all pics)

💡 Tip: What is a product handle? A product handle is a unique name for each product in Shopify stores and can be found in the product page’s URL. For example, for a product with the page URL https://yourstore.myshopify.com/products/your-product, the product handle will be “your-product”.

Where to find the product handle:

Export a product catalog from your Shopify store and you will see all product handles of your products. Check how to export products in Shopify Help Center.
Alternatively, you can find product handles in your export files with reviews.

Open this sample CSV file → make a copy of this sheet → edit/add your data → download it in CSV format:

Step 2. Click Upload a CSV file by selecting it from your computer.

Manual adding of reviews

You can also add your customers’ reviews to your products manually one by one in the admin panel.

Step 1. Go to Shopify Admin/Apps/Choose Growave app/Reviews/Manage Reviews or simply click this link.

Step 2. To add a review manually push the “Add review" button in the right corner.

Step 3. Fill out the required fields for the review, add rating and push the “Add review" button.
