Custom actions

Here is the detailed guide on how you may create and set up Custom actions in Points program.

The custom action is a custom Earning points rule for which your customers can receive an award. This action allows you to reward third-party actions performed by users outside of our platform. For example, commenting on a blog post, leaving a review on another app (Yotpo, Judgeme, and others), and so on. This action is integrated via API tools and can be added an unlimited number of times. This feature is available only on the Enterprise plan.

The way it's set up is easy to follow and intuitive.

1. Primarily, a custom action is created in the Rewards admin panel in the Points -> Earning Points section. You may click on the "Add new" button and choose the Custom action options among available rules:

2. Choose the reward for the custom action between points or discounts. Don't forget to save the changes. The reward type can be:

  • Points
  • Discount
  • Gift card
  • Free product

3. You will need to add an endpoint to the API to launch a custom action. Check out our API documentation here:

When creating a request it's needed to indicate the rule's action_id which is specified in the URL of an earning rule.
